Member Guidelines
All players registering with Eastcoast Dolphins must agree to the following conditions. If you have any queries regarding any of the following guidelines please contact us.
Association Requirements
- Each club must provide an appropriately qualified umpire per team.
- Each club must provide 2 people per team to sit for an umpire's theory exam.
- Each team must wear the same, numbered uniform.
- Hard peak caps are not allowed.
- Players may only wear bike pants that are the same colour as their skirt.
- Teams may not take the field without a fully equipped goalie.
- Players who are pregnant must sign a consent form.
- All players are advised to wear shin pads and a mouth-guard for trainings and matches and the decision not to is at their own risk.
- Players must play 60% of matches in their team or a team in a lower grade to be eligible for finals.
- Players will be de-registered after missing 4 or more consecutive weeks of matches.
- Spectators may not be on the bunker side of the field, in the bunkers or on the field at any time.
Club Requirements
- Privacy - The club will not release emails, phone details and addresses of its players to other players without their permission. Players will be asked if they would like to be on a transport list, which will then be circulated to all club members.
- Correspondence - All official communication will come from the Club Manager - any bulk emails from another source should not be considered official club business.
- Fundraising - Players must assist with any fundraising incentives, which are required to subsidise club expenses, these may include chocolate selling and raffles.
- Goalies/Umpires - Players who have the ability will be expected to assist in an emergency with goal-keeping and umpiring duties.
- Spectators - Players are responsible for the behaviour of any spectators they bring to games. Abusive behaviour, loud sideline commentary or intoxication will not be tolerated.
- Spectators (children) - Players are responsible for the behaviour and safety of any children they bring to games. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times and may not be in the bunker or on the field.
- Security - Players are asked not to leave valuables in their cars at trainings and games, and to keep them in a safe place whilst training.
- Problems - Concerns should be addressed to team captains and/or the club manager as they arise for resolution.
- Commitment - Players are asked to be open and honest with their commitment levels and advise the Club Manager of anything which may arise which will prevent them from honouring their commitments as set out in the guidelines.
- U18 players should consider carefully how study, other sporting commitments and school holidays would affect their commitment levels before registering.
- Teams - Grading is ongoing throughout the season and a player may be promoted or relegated at any time.
- Website - The club's official website and point of contact is www.dolphinshockey.com - entries on Facebook or any other unauthorised sites are not to be viewed as official club sites.

Payment
A $25 discount is applicable when fees are paid in full before 28 February 2010 (does not include uniform fee).
At registration, $150.00 is due and payable.
The balance, along with uniform fee, is due by 31 March 2010.
- The balance of all fees must be paid prior to the first game. All fees are non-refundable after the first game. Fees unpaid at this time will become a liability for the player.
- Players are expected to pay all outstanding money before the close of the season. Any outstanding money will be placed on the player's invoice for the following year and must be paid prior to the registration night.
- Players who leave the club with fees due will have their name lodged with NSWWHA and EDWHA as unfinancial players.
Insurance
- Registration fees include insurance.
- Injured players should obtain a claim form from the club manager within 3 days of injury.
- Completion and lodgement of the claim form is the player's own responsibility.
- Players participate at their own risk and the club is not liable for injuries sustained during club activities.
Selection Policy (Grading)
- A Grading Committee to be selected by the Club Manager will be convened for the purpose of selections.
- Grading will take place at a specified time to be advised to players prior to registration, over a 2-4 week period.
- Grading will be based upon player abilities, performance during the grading nights, past performance, attitude, on-field behaviour, commitment and attendance levels and information provided on the players registration form.
- The Grading Committee will meet to discuss the criteria and make a decision on Grading for the season.
- The Grading will be advised to all players via email and posting on the website.
- Players who are unhappy with their Grading will be invited to raise these issues with the Club Manager in writing. The Club Manager will discuss the matter with the Grading Committee and a response provided to the player in writing within 48 hours.
- It is then up to the individual player to accept/decline their grading. Players who decline their grading will be required to resign from the club.
- Grading will continue throughout the season by consultation between the Club Coach and Team Captains.
- Players may be re-graded at any time during the season based on player abilities, past performance, attitude, behaviour, commitment and attendance levels and information provided on the players registration form.
Training/Fitness/Game Expectations
- Attendance at skills training is compulsory and inclusion in weekly games is dependent upon it (referred to as 'session')
- Fitness is seen, as part of participation and players should seek to ensure they maintain their fitness levels. Participation in organised training fitness is compulsory for all players and positions. If you are unable to participate in fitness you are deemed not to be able to participate in training and should not attend.
- The pre-game and pre-training warm up is compulsory.
- To be eligible for finals players must have at least 60% training attendance.
- Players not available for two or more finals games may be deemed unavailable for all finals.
Inability to attend
Notification must be given to Club Manager by email, phone or SMS (please include name) by the following times:
- Training - by 4.30pm on training day
- Games - 4 hours prior to match time
Failure to give required notice will incur the following penalties.
Training
- 1st Offence - Automatic ½ game suspension at the next scheduled match
- 2nd Offence - Automatic full game suspension to be levied at the coach's discretion
- 3rd Offence - Player must attend a Captains Meeting - suspension of membership
Game
- 1st Offence - Automatic full game suspension to be levied at the coach's discretion
- 2nd Offence - Player must attend a Captains Meeting - suspension of membership
General Attendance
Training
- Players missing 2 consecutive sessions or with irregular attendance will not be eligible to participate in games until they have attended at least 1 session.
Games
- Players absent for an extended period of 3 weeks or more will be re-graded upon their return and must attend at least 2 trainings before they can expect to play in a match. They should not expect to automatically return to their original team.
- Field time is 30 minutes prior to the game.
- Players missing warm up, need to complete it themselves before taking the field.
- Warm down after a match is compulsory.
Wet Weather
- Trainings and games are not cancelled for wet weather. Please attend as usual. Failure to attend will result in a suspension for non-attendance. Please bring wet weather gear.
- Alternate arrangements will be made for training in heavy weather.
- If training or the game is cancelled for reasons beyond the club's control, players will be notified by email or phone, and a message will also be left on the club's answering machine by 4.30pm.
Sponsorship (as applicable)
- Each team is expected to support the commitment made to any sponsor obtained by the club.
- Any requirement will be outlined to players before formally being committed to by the club.
